Refinery Hotel: My New Home in New York

(Photos from iPhone 5s and Sony Alpha 55)

Located in the heart of the Garment District, Refinery Hotel was the perfect choice for my accommodation in the Empire State. Mind you, picking the right hotel for your personality is one of the hardest things to do. After meticulously checking the best hotels in New York, from Soho to Upper East Side, I stumbled upon the Refinery Hotel from the Tablet Hotels Website. It was the glaring winner of my almost never-ending hotel hunting.

The Refinery's overall industrial design, original artworks, and vintage furniture all appealed to my taste. As a bonus, they also have one of the coolest (or probably the coolest) rooftop bars with unparalleled views of the Empire State Building.

At last, I have found a new home in the heart of midtown Manhattan.

The Refinery Hotel is also part of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH). When you see this seal, this means you are in good hands.

How cool are these 3-D Wall art?

I am loving the red leather chairs.

The Rooms:

The hotel has a total of 197 custom furnished Guest Rooms and Executive Suites.  The rooms were inspired by the 19th century life in NYC when this was still home to milliners and hat factories.

For New York Standards, our room was considerably spacious. Thanks to Refinery for upgrading us to a Studio King Room.

I appreciate the generous floor to ceiling height.

Bath products by Le Labo.

Parker and Quinn Restaurant is the signature Restaurant of the Hotel. The restaurant's interiors evoke a sense of nostalgia as it is also inspired by 19th century New York. They serve breakast, lunch and dinner, including cocktails.

Tip: Have the bartenders mix some Prohibition era cocktails for you designed by Alex Ott.

Winnie's Lobby Bar.  Another option for a relaxing afternoon or evening cocktails in the hotel.

The Refinery Rooftop.

This was the main reason why I picked this hotel! I love city views and the Refinery Rooftop had an outstanding view of the well-lit Empire State Building and the Manhattan Skyline. Doesn't get any better than this!

The whole bar has 3,500 square feet, which is actually an ideal place for hosting private parties or corporate events. I even want to rent this myself! (If all my friends could fly to NYC)

Their signature cocktails by Alex Ott were too good!

SERVICE:

Refinery Hotel knows their guests well. If you need anything like getting tickets for a Broadway show or directions going to Woodbury Commons, the concierge will be happy to assist you.

It was a lovely surprise when they sent me a Beautiful Birthday Cake with A Bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon! One more thing: How did they know that my favorite was red velvet??

I couldn't have picked a better hotel. Refinery Hotel has added another level of excitement to the City that never sleeps. I certainly can't wait to be back.
