The Imperial Residence in Sofitel: Luxury Hotel Living Redefined

My weekends recently have been spent in hotels because of my crazy work schedule. I could not survive without having my regular staycations. This lifestyle has left me addicted to hotels. Nothing excites me more than seeing beautiful hotel rooms and suites. Last weekend, I got to see one of the most beautiful and luxurious collection of suites in Sofitel Philippine Plaza - The Imperial Residence. Because of its opulence, the Imperial Residence has been the temporary home of royalties, celebrities, and heads of state when they are in Manila (Recently, President Barack Obama has stayed here).

If you are a discerning guest who wants the best products and service in a hotel, the Imperial Residence will blow your socks off.  It was designed by the world-renowned Spin Studio of Japan, with an investment almost amounting to over one million dollars. With 6,200 square foot, this residential concept is the only one in the city that features flexibility and versatility. Let's say you want to transform
one of the rooms into a gym, spa or office, they will gladly do it for you.

There are actually five rooms here: four Luxurious Club Millesime rooms and the heart of the Imperial Residence - The Imperial Suite.

There's a beautifully lit hallway leading to this Suite.

The Imperial Suite has a more-than-generous living space, formal dining room, fully-equipped kitchen, and luxurious bathrooms (with Hermes bath amenities, therapeutic bath and multi-shower systems with soothing color therapy). I could just imagine myself having an apartment this big.

The formal dining room.

Master's bedroom.

The best part of the Imperial Residence is the unparalleled 180-degree view of Manila Bay. You can have glorious sunrise and sunset sessions here while sipping some cocktails.

Of course, this would not be luxury if you didnt have two 24-hour butlers at your beck and call. Anything you need, they will give it to you.

The Imperial Residence also has Bronze Scupltures by one of our multi-awarded National Artists -Eduardo Castrillo.

Some of the Club Millesime Suites.

The most interesting thing about the Imperial Palace though would be its previous guests. Let's face it, who can afford at least 250K per night? The Butler has shared stories about their previous guests. The Butler's close encounter with all the celebrities has made their job  quite prestigious. They have become insiders to the private world of important people.

Here's a list of the previous celebrities who have stayed here.

Luciano Pavarotti, 1994
Hillary Clinton, 2010
Tony Blair, 2009
Al Gore, 2010
James Ferragamo, 2007
Brunei Royalty Mohammed Bolkiah, 2009
East Timor President Jose Ramos Horta, 2010
Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev, 2010
Thai President Abhisit Vejjajiva -2010
Justin Timberlake.

Aside from all these people, low-key guests have splurged here as well. One wedding ceremony was already held in the Imperial Residence. Some guests would even book it for one whole month. Do the Math.

At the end of the day, staying at the Imperial Residence is not for everyone. With its price tag, it is really the fitting residence for celebrities, high-ranking government officials, and royalties. However, this does not mean that regular people can't stay here. I have always believed that most people do not want to be multi-millionaires or billionaires in their lifetime. They only want to experience what it is like to live on the greener side once in a while. If you happen to stay at the Imperial Residence in the future,  make sure you go all out.
