I'M Hotel: Urban Escape in Makati

Barangay Poblacion in Makati City is experiencing some sort of rebirth lately. Its reputation as the Red Light District no longer precedes it. This side of Makati is now the home of the hippest cafés, restaurants, and bars.  It didn't come as a surprise to me when I heard that I'M hotel - a 5-star property - was finally breaking ground here. I'M hotel has a unique position because it is hotel of many "firsts" in the city.  Its signature facilities, location and design will surely appeal to all types of guests. The hotel's main feature is the Onsen Spa - the largest state-of-the-art spa in the Philippines.

Upon arrival, the first thing that you see are the bright (Hollywood) lights on the wall with the I'M logo. I'm sure people will be snapping photos here for all their social media accounts.

I'M hotel has 434 rooms and some of them are equipped with Electrolux-fitted kitchenette, dining and living area. I stayed in a one-bedroom executive suite, one of the property's biggest rooms.

The Deluxe Room. I would have also been fine staying here but I was not complaining.

The acrylic-bottomed infinity pool is iconic in I'M hotel. Before entering the lobby, you can already see it when you look up. I love the platform above the pool where you can lounge and watch people.

As for the food, I'M hotel has excellent dining choices for all the guests. Bloom restaurant serves international dishes while Empress Jade has contemporary Chinese cuisine. You can also go to the poolside Mermaid Bar for drinks and snacks. They also have a cosy café near the lobby where you can hold casual meetings or simply relax.

Bloom Restaurant.

I decided to hit the Japanese section at the Bloom restaurant at lunch time.

My meal during breakfast.

Empress Jade restaurant.

The Braised Beancurd with seafood was a winner. I almost finished the whole plate but I had to make room for more.

I needed to try the tender Crackling Roast Pork Belly.

Fragrant Taro Croquette With Scallop.

Everyone's favorite- the popular 8 treasures Xiao Long Bao (Steamed dumplings with pork bone broth) Platter. I had never eaten XLB with different colors!

Don't forget to work out after eating all of that. The hotel has a lovely gym overlooking the pool.

The 3800 sqm Onsen Spa is the highlight of this hotel. The Spa has pods and VIP rooms for your desired treatment. Onsen also features a carbonated bath with technology imported from Japan (If you want to try this, you need to be in your birthday suit. Start being comfortable being naked!). After your treatment, you can have a sumptuous buffet at the Bloom Restaurant, which is part of the package.

Lounge area for the private rooms.

I'M hotel is a certainly a game changer in Barangay Poblacion, Makati. I'll certainly be back for another spa and staycation package here soon!

Big Thanks to Jilly for arranging everything.
